New Years Resolutions, The Miniature Edition
Well, its the last day of 2009. This year has been interesting for me on many fronts, not a great year, but not really a bad one either. On the miniature & gaming front, a number of good things happened.
- More or less finished this site – there’s always some improvements that could be made, but it does everything I want it to do, and I have a constant stream of users, so it meets the needs of others as well. If there are new features you want, leave some feedback.
- Successfully sculpted a shrieker figure
- Created the King Cougar Conversion Guide
- Feel pretty good about the quality of the figures I painted this year
- Beat Vil-hatarn in a tournament.-
However, external stresses kept me from painting or writing as much as I would like. Of course, the lack of relaxing with my games increased my stress level more than it needed. I’m not usually one for New Years resolutions, but after seeing Sergeant Crunch’s blog post about completing 100 painted miniatures by the end of the year (I don’t know if that was a resolution or not, but it was clearly a goal) I was inspired to set some gaming goals for myself. 100 miniatures is more than I can manage with everything else going on, so my goals will be more modest.
- 25 completed miniatures ** At least one really large one ** At least one sculpt, probably something simple
- A completed diorama
- Keep my Pathfinder Legacy of Fire campaign going
- Play one board game/month
- Two game blog posts/month
Part of me looks at that list and thinks it is really ambitious. But with everything else that I need to get done, I think it will be a challenge. But even if I don’t get to it all, it will be fun trying.
